A swimming pool in Laurencekirk?!!!
How did this come about?
This business is a joint venture and dream come true for myself, Jacquie, and my husband Craig.
We both have had a lifelong interest in exercise, healthy living and the great outdoors.
We were keen to one day set up a business together which could combine all of these passions.

Craig began to swim more when he started to compete in Triathlons in 2015. As an ex- competitive swimmer, I joined him in the pool and training with a local Triathlon club.
It was clear to us both that stroke technique (not fitness or training) was the key to speed and efficiency in the water.
We then started on a journey to learn how to swim much better personally and eventually trained as swim coaches for adults, children and open water

Having met many coaches with their own endless pools including our own swim coach, Emma at Edinburgh Swim Studio we realised this was the way for us to be able to deliver swim classes locally.
We searched for several years before purchasing the premises at 58 High Street, Laurencekirk in 2022. Although this ex charity shop needed extensive refurbishment and repair it was the perfect size and location for the new business.
The building is also large enough to incorporate a space to deliver small group classes and one to one sessions as well as being available for private hire.
This will be great for us to run training and workshops, Craig to run Triathlon based training and for me to continue my specialist senior exercise work.

We have both developed a passion for swimming outdoors and swim regularly together all over the North East of Scotland and wherever we are on holiday!
As well as the swim studio and the Blue Sky Space we look forward to developing our Open Water work at Knockburn Sports Loch. We have plans to deliver OW training, OW for children, OW skills sessions and other events in addition to our successful Intro to OW Workshops.

Blue Sky Swim Studio was named as we feel there are no limits to the adventures we can have now and in the future!!
